{"id":66,"date":"2020-06-16T14:38:05","date_gmt":"2020-06-16T14:38:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/gsmcalculator.com\/?p=66"},"modified":"2020-06-19T07:37:47","modified_gmt":"2020-06-19T07:37:47","slug":"what-is-nylon","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/gsmcalculator.com\/blog\/basics\/what-is-nylon\/","title":{"rendered":"What is Nylon?"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Density &#8211; 1.15<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Polyamide (PA), also known as Nylon, is a clear and printable thermoplastic that has a relatively high melting point, exceptional strength and toughness, and good oxygen barrier properties. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is also scratch, puncture, and flex-crack resistant and does not dissolve or absorb grease, oil, and acidic food. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These properties make PA ideal for use in conventional and microwave cooking applications. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The two most common types are cast and biaxial oriented Nylon film. Biaxial oriented polyamide or BOPA film can be used for a wide variety of applications especially where high gas barrier properties are required.
